O Owner of the Negombo Youth Football Club and the President of the Negombo Football League, Ranjith is a key figure in the footballing landscape in Sri Lanka, and held the post of President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka for the fiscal years 2013/14 and 2014/15.

He was the member of the Association Committee of FIFA, the Developing Committee of Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

He is now the chairman of finance and media commit-tees and the deputy chairman of the International Relations Committee of the federation, and a member of audit and compliance committee of AFC and the vice president of the South Asian Football Federation.
My journey as a football player began with the Negombo Youth Football Club in 1982. I entered the football administration in 1996, becoming the President and the sole sponsor of Negombo Youth Football Club (“NYFC”).

In 2000, I was able to make a historical move in Sri Lankan Football history by introducing professional football via contracts to football players in the NYFC and other players in Sri Lanka, similar to the players’ contracts adopted by the developed football nations of the world.

NYFC became the National Level Champions of Premier League tournament, FA Cup, Champion of Champions, Futsal Cup, Beach Football during the last 17 years under the my leadership.

I joined the administration of Football Federation of Sri Lanka (“FFSL”) in 1996 representing the NYFC and Negombo Football League and have held various positions in the FFSL as follows.

• 1996-1997 - Member of Finance Committee • 1998-1999 - Chairman of Finance Committee • 2000-2007 – Treasurer • 2007-2010 - Vice President • 2010-2013 - Senior Vice President

I have thus been a member of the Executive Committee of the FFSL during my entire period in the FFSL administration.
